Since 1974 and the establishment of the Older Americans Act, the Commonwealth of Kentucky has designated the Purchase Area Development District to develop and administer comprehensive programs and services for the elderly and for individuals with disabilities. Residents age 60 and older or those with disabilities in the eight Purchase Counties of Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Marshall, and McCracken may be eligible to participate in or receive services delivered through our office, and our network of partner agencies. Together, we work to provide answers, advocacy, and action for the individuals we serve and their families.
Priority is given to elderly individuals who reside in rural areas, elderly with greatest economic need (with particular attention to low income minority), older individuals with severe disabilities, older persons with limited English speaking ability, and older individuals with Alzheimer's Disease or related neurological disorder. If you are interested in any of these services, please call our Purchase Aging and Disability Resource Center at 1-800-866-4213 for more information.
The Policy and Procedures manual consists of general guidelines for the operation of each program administered by the Purchase Area Agency on Aging & Independent Living. Each chapter represents a different program. For questions regarding these policies or procedures should be directed to Ann Ponder Simpson, by calling 270-247-9426.
