COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIVISION: Commodity and Food Bank
CDL Truck Driver, Part-Time

The Purchase Area Development District has immediate part time openings for a licensed CDL driver to pick up loads from our retail donors and maintain a good and professional relationship with their staff.  This position require the following duties:
1) Operation of a forklift and pallet jack
2) Unload all donations, weigh all items per guidelines and store items by category in their designated areas.
3) Must be able to lift and move food boxes containing 50+ lbs. of food.
4) Log weights into a weekly poundage report log.
5) Pull and palletize orders as they come in from Food Pantries.
6) Unload government commodity trucks when they arrive at the warehouse.
7) Help keep a maintenance record for all warehouse equipment including the trucks.
8) Keep warehouse logs up to date.
9) Keep the warehouse in order and clean for periodic inspections from Health Department and other government agencies.
10) Other duties as necessary. 

All applicants will need to possess good communication skills, the ability to work on several different projects at once and prioritize that work, and be a self-starter.

HUMAN SERVICES DIVISION: Area Agency on Aging & Independent Living
Participant Directed Services Program Coordinator

The Purchase Area Development District is seeking an experienced individual to supervise and manage an existing and growing Participant Directed Services (PDS) Medicaid Waiver Program and supervise an existing team of staff.  The Coordinator will be responsible for supervision of Services Advisors performing assessment/reassessment and on-going case management functions in the eight county Purchase District. 

The ideal candidate will have:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a health or human services field 
  • Or be a registered nurse who has at least two years of experience as a professional nurse in the field of aging or disabilities. 

The Program Coordinator must have at least four years of experience as a case manager in the field of aging or disabilities. Experience with Medicaid Waiver programs including HCB waiver is preferred. Experience in other waiver programs such as ABI, Michele P and Kentucky Transitions is also desirable and past supervisory experience is ideal. Responsibilities include managing the overall program functions and supervising staff, carrying a limited caseload of clients, working cooperatively with partner agencies, monitoring program functions including consumer and service documentation, maintaining compliance with policy and procedure requirements of the program, and ensuring that all necessary paperwork required is complete and accurate. 

Skills needed include excellent verbal and written communication, self-direction, outstanding organizational skills, efficiency, and the ability to relate to other professionals and consumers.  The PADD offers an attractive compensation program.

HUMAN SERVICES DIVISION: Area Agency on Aging & Independent Living
Aging Program Coordinator

The Purchase Area Development District (PADD) is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Aging Program Coordinator.  This position is primarily responsible for all requirements of the State Health Insurance Assistance Program; services contracted to Senior Citizen Centers; contracted Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) services; and marketing, support group development and other activities to enhance/expand the Family Caregiver program. Responsibilities include: helping seniors access and/or understand public benefits, including the Medicare Part D Prescription Drug program; working closely with Senior Citizens Centers and SCSEP provider to provide technical assistance, quality assurance and monitoring; and focused marketing, support group development and enhancement/expansion of the Family Caregiver program.

Other duties include arranging educational opportunities, performing outreach activities, and overall aging program management support. Skills required include excellent verbal and written communication, ability to work well with diverse populations, initiative and self-direction, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, experience in Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of senior and/or disability services. Applicant must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Gerontology, Psychology, Sociology or a related health or human service field and one year of related experience with the applicable populations and/or services.
